Marc Zielinski began his career with Decathlon over 30 years ago in France, when he was employed as a part-time staff member while at university. Following his graduation, he officially joined the sports goods company and occupied various roles in the organisation.
Mr Zielinkski became Decathlon Italy's CFO in Retail and Production in 1994, which was followed by a move across the world to Hong Kong in 1999 and then Shanghai in 2003. During his tenure, he held CFO positions across different areas of the business and grew Decathlon's business in Asia. In 2006, he went back to France to support Decathlon Europe before accepting the responsibility of Decathlon Group as CFO in 2012 and Decathlon Group deputy general manager in charge of Finance, Strategy, Development and Services in 2015.
Mr Zielinkski came back to Hong Kong in September 2016 to take up the position of Decathlon Hong Kong CEO and is credited with the highly successful expansion of the brand's Hong Kong business. Three stores within two years of operations, including the biggest sports store in the city in Tseung Kwan O with 36,000 sq ft in retail space and an outdoor sports playground of equivalent size.
Mr Zielinkski is an avid sports fan and enjoys running and road cycling in his spare time.
