    Redefining Hong Kong Series 2022/23

How can Hong Kong take centre stage in achieving GBA’s ambitions?

Virtual Event on July 6 (Wed) | In-Person Event on July 7 (Thur)

This year, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). As Hong Kong celebrates its many achievements over the past 25 years, it is also time to look at where the city has succeeded in creating real impact and where it needs to improve. Moving forward, how can Hong Kong drive greater change at pace and scale to venture ahead in the next 25 years? One of the biggest opportunities available to Hong Kong businesses and residents is in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) - seizing untapped opportunities in innovation, technology, business, tourism, finance, and more.

The Greater Bay Area region is set to develop into a world-class hub for innovation, technology and talent. Significant progress has been made, where investment in technology companies has surged. The number of tech companies in GBA that have IPO’d have grown from 10 in 2019 to 40 in 2022. The GBA is now home to 43 unicorns valued at a combined US$1.1 trillion. It is also the home ground for 25 Global Fortune 500 companies, outgrowing New York Bay Area or the San Francisco Bay Area, representing industries like financial services, technology, and manufacturing.

This installment of Redefining Hong Kong event will focus on identifying key opportunities in trade, finance and tourism, and devise actionable strategies to anchor our city as the window into the Greater Bay Area for the world. Business experts, corporate leaders and entrepreneurs will provide unparalleled insights and practical advice for international and domestic businesses looking to enter the GBA market leveraging Hong Kong’s expertise in professional services, risk management and business advisory.
